| Window AC: Cooling the Atmosphere!
Window air conditioner is becoming one of the basic need of humans. This is one luxury item everyone wants to lay their hands on. In today's scenario, where in we have a profusion of technologies and brands, choosing your air conditioning system should not be very difficult. Living life king-size is what everybody wants, luxury is all we dream about, but what if the scorching sun in mid May is making your life miserable. Well, to avoid this we depend heavily on the air conditioning system. AC is no more a status symbol now-a-days; rather it has evolved as a necessity. The term air conditioning most commonly refers to the cooling and de-humidification of indoor air for thermal comfort. In simpler terms, it is a machine used for cooling, heating and ventilation.
StudioCanal completes acquisition of Germany's Kinowelt
StudioCanal has announced the completion of its 100% acquisition of German distributor Kinowelt. Speculation on the move had reached fever pitch last week when a Leipzig-based daily reported that the long-rumoured deal was imminent. StudioCanal signed the acquisition contract on Wednesday with Michael and Rainer Kolmel, owners of Kinowelt. In a press release, StudioCanal said the deal "marks another significant step in the growth of StudioCanal's European distribution network." The company acquired UK distributor Optimum Releasing in May 2006. Although the Leipzig paper cited a sale price of $102m (Euros 70m), StudioCanal chairman Olivier Courson told ScreenDaily.com that because the actual fee is based in part on future performance, he could not specify what StudioCanal is paying.
Illegal Alien Advocates Ignore the Real Problem
Two United States Catholic bishops have written to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, asking the agency to adopt policies aimed at assisting families and communities affected by immigration raids. Normally I do not engage in discussions relating to religion, but this issue should be important for all Americans, regardless of their religious orientation. I recently testified before the Indiana State Senate about a bill (SB 335) that would enable the state of Indiana to revoke the business license of any business that repeatedly hires illegal aliens, and provides other measures to enable that state to do the job the federal government won't do where immigration is concerned. During the hearing, I listened to a representative of the Catholic Church talk about the need to honor the dignity of the "undocumented immigrants." For the Catholic Church to take a stand on an issue that has such extreme implications for national security is outrageous. What is also outrageous is the fact that while the Church decries the lack of dignity that the arrest of illegal aliens represents (in the Church's judgment), why is the Church conspicuously absent at those factories and other work sites where illegal aliens are horribly treated? Why is the Church not showing up to protest the terrible conditions under which illegal aliens often live and work? During my long career at the former INS, I found (on many occasions) illegal aliens living in abject squalor.
Hasbro Previews G.I. Joe , Hulk , Iron Man , Indy & Clone Wars
Their Marvel line will include Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor from "World War Hulk," as a tie-in to the two Marvel movies. You can check some of those out here. Hasbro's 2008 line of Indiana Jones toys will roll-out in four waves that include characters and vehicles from all four movies, starting with Raiders of the Lost Ark and the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on May 1, then figures from "The Last Crusade" will follow in July and "Temple of Doom" in September, although Hasbro has promised that these will be ongoing toys and not just done simply to tie into the movie. There was more secrecy revolving around the upcoming "Crystal Skull" than any other movie presented by Hasbro with a bunch of the toys not shown at all, since some of them might give away key plot points of what happens in the movie.
