Hip-Hop Rumors: We Don't Need No Rumors Today!
I would like to quickly clarify what happened at the Kanye West show in California. Actually, it was a Common show that Kanye popped up on. Last week I said that Kanye dissed the Grammys. Well, it wasn't at the Anaheim show like I said. This apparently occurred at the Hollywood show at the House of Blues. I wasn't there so I didn't hear it or anything. Also, I heard that in a third verse freestyle, Kanye said “I beat 50." Thanks a lot, Peter!! (See the pics down below) EMINEM RUMORS FALSE There was another crappy Eminem rumor coming out that the Detroit rapper was going to be wrestling in the WWE. Shame on you if you believed that one. It was refuted faster than any other rumor in the history of man.
Tension lingers at Marble Rock Council session
But Merfeld later drew up a second agenda and hand-delivered it to council members Sunday in addition to posting it at City Hall. That agenda included some of the same items that were on the first agenda but did not include appointment of a city attorney as the first agenda did.At the beginning of the meeting, Merfeld read a statement to the council."I will not consider any appointment for city attorney until all of the members of the City Council and the citizens of Marble Rock have been fully informed concerning the possible appointees, such as hourly fees, travel expense, availability for meetings, retainer fees, experience and more," he said.Merfeld also said he was not going to ask for approval of the agenda for that night but proceed directly into the meeting."There will be no prior comments allowed by any of the members of the City Council as they will more than likely result in the city’s urgent business not being addressed," he said."You can’t just sit there on your bully pulpit and dictate to us," Handley said.Engelhardt, Wells and Handley voted to approve the first agenda that was posted.
Table Talk
I love to eat at the bar, especially if it's just me or me plus one. What's your take? Should the bar just be for drinks, should there be some section of the bar just for drinks, or is this just another fight that has no winner? Looking for great bar perches? Japan stocks fall over 2 pct, erasing week's gains
U.S. crude oil CLc1 jumped to an all-time high above $100 a barrel on Tuesday, with supply constraints helping to drive up the costs of other raw materials, though it had fallen below that level in Asian trade on Wednesday. 'Investors bid up the market earlier this week on expectations that U.S. stocks would do well once Wall Street returned from a holiday, but those hopes were betrayed,' said Yutaka Miura, chief technical analyst at Shinko Securities. 'Taking this along with the high oil prices and worries about the U.S. economy, investors decided it was a good time to lock in profits.' At 0429 GMT the benchmark Nikkei .N225 was down 2.4 percent at 13,430.06, its lowest since Feb 15. The broader TOPIX index was down 2.4 percent at 1,312.84. Konica Minolta (4902.T: Quote, Profile, Research) plunged 7.3 percent to 1,365 yen after Credit Suisse cut its rating to 'neutral' from 'outperform' citing a weak office equipment market, competition in the LCD film market and the impact of a strong yen.
Auto GM to Focus on Small Turbo Fours to Improve Fuel Economy
GM's other turbocharged motors in the U.S. see limited duty in performance models from Pontiac and Chevy as well as GM's oft-overlooked Saab brand. The turbo Ecotec four-banger used in the Pontiac Solstice GXP and Saturn Sky Red Line produces 260 HP and 260-lb-ft of torque from just 2.0 liters of displacement. According to GM product czar Bob Lutz, the move to bring engines to the U.S. that Europeans have enjoyed for years has more to do with CAFE than consumer demand. "Europeans, at their fuel prices, are willing to pay premium prices for premium small cars that deliver terrific fuel economy," said Lutz. "That is not the case here in America, land of the big truck, big horse and the big American." It remains to be seen how Americans will take to the turbocharged engines which will add anywhere from $250 to $450 to the purchase price of a vehicle.
